World’s greenest building to be built in Paris
January 3rd, 2008 | by Simon RattrayThe world’s greenest building is to be built in a deprived area of Paris by the architect who designed the Freedom Tower in New York, Skidmore Owings & Merrill. They are leading the project which has been code named “Energy Plus”. Despite proposing to hold over 5,000 tenants, the building will generate enough energy to power it’s own heating, lighting and air con.
One of the most interesting facts uncovered in the article in today’s Daily Telegraph, is the level of pollution caused by commercial real estate, a staggering 47% of total pollution in France. As increasing number of corporates make a point of being environmentally conscious, the building should have plenty of interested tenants.
