Web-based project management software

5pm project management softwareUsing Choregus, you can save money by using the wealth of information about office space, but what about saving time (and we all know that time is money - Ed.) when you are in the office?

Well, we have recently come across a great piece of project management software that fits in the same class as the Office space serviced office serviced officesserviced office model - quick and easy to use, portable and can help get a business moving fast - all ideal attributes wouldn’t you say?

The software is called 5pm (www.5pmweb.com). It has the usual features that you would expect with project management software but with the hugely added bonus of being web-based. This makes it perfectly possible for a business to use the same program no matter which location that they may be in at that particular time. In your MWB office on Thursday, whilst on your laptop in a Office space Manchester serviced officesManchester cafe on the Friday, you will be using exactly the same software, even though you are using different machines. As you can see, this fits perfectly with the way that people are now doing business.

Several features including a timeline view, time report, dual layout and a powerful access rights system make the software not only easy to use, but secure too - again, very fitting to the way that most of the readers of the Choregus site will like to work.

We have tested it on several platforms - Macs and PC’s - with different browsers also, because during our research for the best program, we found it difficult to get project management software that works on Firefox. It worked on them all, and especially well for the Mac User writing this review.

There is a video of the program here, but don’t be worried about the American accent, it works very well for us Brits too! Also notice the subtle references to various characters from the Office Space movie (that we are all fans of at Choregus - Ed.).

We have been using 5pm now for 4 weeks and find it extremely useful in planning how we run this very site. We schedule our content, tool building, directory additions - everything - and find that all 5 of us can easily use the software no matter where we are located. We don’t all work in the same office, so keeping in touch is an important part of this site being a success and 5pm lets us do that.

I have been asked by the editor to give the software a rating out of 5 for the site and a ‘one-liner’ about it, so here goes…

Summary

I give 5pm (www.5pmweb.com) 5/5 5 stars
“A great piece of software that fits perfectly to the serviced office user.”

Using web-based project management software is relevantly crucial to companies with multiple tasks. I am currently using CommuniClique as an inexpensive solution that has offered my organization with more flexibility and enable all members to communicate in a single real-time platform. They are now running a free 30-trial and provides a opportunity for those who want to test-drive the software for themselves.

I believe using these types of collaborative software is overlooked and undervalued. I am using Mercury Grove’s Web Groups for marketing projects, but it is difficult to get some of my non-marketing colleagues to not use the typical methods of using Outlook (or other email) to share information, spreadsheets to create project timelines and the like. I’ve found using this type of software very useful and Mercury Grove’s software is among the best (www.mercurygrove.com).

Well, it seems like 5pm guys took inspiration here http://www.wrike.com. Keeping tasks organized is very important, that’s why timeline is not the only needed feature. For me ability to turn regular emails into tasks is irreplaceable. This is the reson I use Wrike.
