The floods in June 2007 affected local homes and business in the United Kingdom. Amongst those affected was Pegasus Software, part of Infor Global Solutions, in Kettering. It took 10 minutes for the flood waters to rise to a level of four feet causing millions of pounds worth of damages.
Despite millions of litres of water destroying the interior of the business and the 81 staff having to be rescued by the firemen in dinghies, Pegasus was open again for business 24 hours later in a nearby hotel.
To restore the interior of the building Pegasus has enlisted the help of Thornton Project Solutions, the company has been hired to restore the 9000 sq ft office. Thornton’s will have to start from scratch by stripping the walls of plaster and starting from there.
Gary King, managing director of Thornton Project Solutions says
“Timescalces are demanding and we will be coordinating our various subcontractors carefully in order to complete the project according to schedule.”
As well as the work, Thornton’s have redesigned the office layout to provide a modern open plan office area, luxurious presentation area and even the toilets will be finished to a high standard.
Thornton’s are also taking on responsibility for the electrical work, as well as installing state of the art flood prevention doors.
