Success at Glasgow business centre

June 17th, 2008 | by Samantha Middleton |

Glasgow business centre.Centrum Offices in Glasgow are seeing a great surge of business for the first part of 2008 and were asked by a Scottish newspaper to explain more about what serviced offices are to the business community of Scotland.

As you know, Choregus aims to give more information to the business community about serviced offices and so we re-publish the letter sent by Gillian Christie of Cetrum to see how someone from inside the industry explains serviced offices to the wider business world.

Gillian writes:

Once seen as a ‘niche’ sector Serviced Office Space has over the past few years become a mainstream option for many businesses when considering their office space requirements. It is no longer is it seen as a transitional stop gap, but as a flexible office solution to any business plan.

At Centrum we have found that the current uncertain economic climate seems to be bringing this service to an even wider audience – since the start of the year we have seen record level of take up for both Glasgow Serviced Offices and Virtual Services. With the number of enquiries in the first six months of 2008 almost 3 times as much as the same period last year.

Our clients come in all shapes and sizes from SME to multi-nationals and include a wide variety of sectors from Software Development to Architects, Recruitment Consultants to Solicitors, Financial Services to Charities.

The benefits that attract such a diverse range of users are many including short term licenses, from as little as three months, fully fitted offices including furniture, communications and broadband. Other key services include telephone answering, front desk reception services and back up services such as meeting rooms and secretarial support. All of these help to reduce the large capital spend associated with office set up.

It is perfectly possible to move into an office and be up and running in a couple of days.

The serviced office option means that businesses can react to economic circumstance much more quickly than in traditional lease arrangement – be this expansion or contraction - companies can be quick on their feet and have direct control over their overheads.

In essence Serviced Offices provide a simple and hassle free alternative to traditional lease which can tie a business into accommodation for long periods and involve substantial capital outlays.

The fact that we own our 6 storey building in the centre of Glasgow, with a total floor space of almost 50,000 sq ft, means we can also be very flexible and responsive to our clients needs.

As a result we have expanded our space and are actively looking at new properties in Scotland, particularly Edinburgh where we have a development option which will provide almost 25,000 sq ft of office space.
