Running short of office space
August 31st, 2007 | by Adam Lucking
It seems that Edinburgh is running out of office space and people wanting it will have to look towards
Glasgow.
This is reported on Property.Scotsman.com
Edinburgh has not run out of prime office accommodation in the city centre - but it could in a couple of years’ time because there is not much in the pipeline. There is pressure on rents, which are creeping up to the £30 per sq ft mark. And Glasgow has plenty of space to offer.
But there are encouraging signs that the Edinburgh office sector is picking up and developers are behind the market.
Virgin Money is on the look-out for space in the city. It could take up to 50,000sq ft and the joint agent Mark Jones of DTZ has described it as a “hugely positive story” for the Edinburgh office market.
