Regus Express rental offices

I have just come across a really amazing (yes, the serviced office space industry can sometimes be amazing) piece of news about Regus Express short-term rental offices over in the United States.
Although I have known about them for a while, I have not yet seen a photo of one of them until today. Quite smart they look too.

What are they you may ask? They are short-term business cubicles that allow you to conduct business whilst at the airport - this one is in Salt Lake City International by the way - in isolation.
You don’t have to be sitting next to a nosy passenger who may be watching every word you type to your boss or have the rest of your immediate area hear your important phone calls.
Inside the Regus Express office you have the facility of a computer, fax, internet (with VPN access) and a land line.
The costs are quite cheap too. At £4.50 for 15 minutes or £8 for half an hour, its a good price to be away from the rest of the airport so that you can conduct business in the right environment. Your company will probably cover the costs in expenses anyway.
It looks to be lit very well and more spacious than I would have imagined. Its very American-esque in the fact that it looks like every cubicle that I have worked in or seen over the pond, which means that customers from the states will appreciate it.
As for people from the UK, I would think that maybe it could be made to look more spacious by using a decorative wall rather than the grey panel system.
Would I use one? Most definitely. I have traveled to the states four times in the past 12 months and would have used the facilities probably each time should the have had one. The ultimate business resource in this kind of environment in my opinion.
I cant wait until this kind of thing is over here in airports and train stations. Will make journeys down to the south so much better. I know that they are coming over here, and hope it is sooner rather than later.

Couldn’t agree more. Strangely though, Regus offer iMacs in reception areas in offices in the UK even though I have yet to meet a Regus receptionist that knows how to use one :-)

Yes these are a fantastic idea. On a recent business trip from London to Manchester, I had to wait a couple of hours in the First Class lounge at Euston. It was rather crowded, not that comfortable and you had to pay for internet access. I would much have preferred one of these pods!
