The cities of Manchester and Liverpool have had an historic and enduring rivalry that emcompasses everything from music to football, with each believing they are superior than the other. However in economic terms, there is a clear divide between the two cities, with Manchester experiencing higher commercial growth in recent years. This has in turn been reflected in the cost of renting office space in Manchester.

According to commercial agents DTZ, office space in Manchester typically rents for £28.50 per square foot per annum compared with about £21 in Liverpool. Manchester’s 19 million square foot of office space compares with Liverpool’s 3-4 million. So if you are an emerging business or you are flexible over where you want to locate, it would seem that there is savings to be made if you opted for Liverpool over Manchester.
