Microsoft set Edinburgh rental record

January 28th, 2008 | by Simon Rattray |

Software giant Microsoft has set a new rental record for Edinburgh by taking up the first tenancy at Waverley Gate. This will be a 15 year lease by Microsoft who will be taking over over 12,000 square feet of office space, at £31 per sq ft and £29.50 for sq ft on the two floors it is occupying. The letting is the first at the site for three years following a refurbishment.

Do you know which arm of Microsoft that is locating in Edinburgh?

I think its just an expansion plan to get more MS offices over here, especially within major cities and on important transport routes.

Having been to Edinburgh quite a few times, I can tell anyone thinking of working for Microsoft there, or indeed renting serviced offices, that you probably couldn’t work in a more brilliant environment in the UK.
