April 7th, 2008 | by James Jones

Marks spencerMarks & Spencer is looking for Manchester office space - 80,000 square feet to be exact, in the city centre.

Sites have already been earmarked in the city centre and also in Salford Quays with a shortlist of 2 to be decided by the beginning of May.

Some shortlisted sites for the M&S office space are Spinningfields, Belvedere, 40 Springardens and Three Piccadilly Place.

In Salford Quays there are already 200 staff working in around 40,000 square feet in the shared services division although the new office space sought will be housing for staff members from the London head office.

In a typically bland PR statement, Marks & Spencer said: “We are constantly looking to ensure that our sites best suit our needs.”
