Manchester office space gets innovating lighting product

Two office space buildings in Spinningfields, Manchester have been fitted with the innovative Simmtronic SPECS3 digital lighting controls.
Awarded the contracts for both 3 and 4 Hardman Square by building services provider, NG Bailey, Simmtronic serviced both projects from its northern regional office. The initial Cat.A shell and core contracts have been followed-up with feature-rich Cat.B schemes, building on the backbone system and tailored to the requirements of the incoming tenants.
3, Hardman Square, designed by Foster + Partners, is a 10-storey, 180,000 sq.ft. building with commanding views of the City of Manchester. It is occupied by Halliwells, one of the UK’s most expansive legal practices. Most floors are predominantly open plan but with cellular offices around the perimeter and have Simmtronic presence-based lighting controls with corridor hold functions. The cellular offices have daylight linking to dim or ‘off’ lights in response to daylight penetration. Meeting rooms on the specialist eighth floor have scene-setting and AV interfaces and the two conference rooms also feature partition interfacing.
4 Hardman Square, a 5-storey, 53,000 sq.ft. headquarters style office building has two tenants: business and financial advisers Grant Thornton and HSBC Bank Plc. For Grant Thornton the Simmtronic lighting control scheme is presence-based with daylight linking on perimeter luminaires. The HSBC fit-out required a switching scheme incorporating features including scene-setting, AV interfaces, and partition interfacing.
