Low cost serviced offices with a twist

Yesterday I was made aware that a North West based storage company was also offering serviced offices at their locations. I got my notepad out and left to investigate…
The company is called Big Storage and they have several storage facilities around the North West including Chester, Warrington, Morecombe, Lancaster and Macclesfield.
With a location close to Choregus HQ in Wilmslow, I thought that I would travel to this facility.
I got to the huge building which to be honest looked the least likely place in the world to house office space, but I was met by the manager of the centre, Sean Jinks, who explained exactly what the business did and for what type of clients, and it quickly became clear why serviced offices were such a good idea at the location, for a certain type of customer.
The office space is offered to clients that also use a minimum of 1000 square feet of storage space for their own business, so companies with a physical stock room need are ideally suited to this type of environment (gadget sales, office wholesalers etc), whereas internet businesses, such as Choregus, are not really suited.
With no stock to hold, internet, recruitment and other such businesses would be better off using a business centre environment, much to the agreement with Big Storage themselves, although the cost is still quite cheap for non-storage users.
Now though, we havent got to the exact pricing of the offices, which is by far the best bit!
For a 3-4 man office at the facility in Wilmslow, with customers using a minimum of 1000 sq ft of storage space, the price is only around £63 per week! I was stunned at the price for this. A serviced office close to your own stock that houses up to 4 staff members for that price is a real bargain.
For companies that do not use storage space, the price is around the £100 mark per week, which is still very reasonable indeed. However, the industrial feeling to the site would not suit a company not using storage areas.
Overall, I was very impressed with the building and facilities and can see that there is a very good market there for companies that need storage space and office space at the same time. WIth office space prices like that, its impossible to ignore Big Storage.
