Israelis get green light for London South Bank property

Southwark Council have approved a mixed use development on Londons South Bank.An Israeli development consortium lead by David Gil are to have a 23 storey office tower and a 42 storey residential tower with 286 flats, 119 of them being very affordable.The scheme will mean redevelopment of Rennie House and Wakefield House with some neighbouring Grade 11 listed buildings to be retained. This is also subject to the completion of Section 106 agreements.The site was sold to the Israeli consortium for £90m in July 2007 by Land Securities.
