Finding office space is better with a broker say Choregus

We have recently conducted a test to find the best way to find office space via the web.

We did several searches for serviced offices in various locations in the Office space UK serviced officesUK to test as many possibilities, well, as possible.

We have shown our findings on the image below which shows the two major ways in which office space can be found via a web search.

Office space

For each positive and negative aspect of a search, we have added a + or - sign to the image.  As you can see, there are positive and negative aspects on both ways of finding office space - its not all plain sailing, but if you are going to have greater success in finding office space for your company then it looks like, following our findings, that using an office broker company will give you more of the tools you need to find somewhere that suits you.

Some of this is down to the limited number of offices that any one provider can talk to you about, but then again, a Centre Manager of a Regus building for example could give you more information about the local business community that an office broker consultant could do.

Some people will prefer to deal directly with an office space provider, but, as the image above shows, there are more reasons to use a broker than to go direct to the office providers themselves.

What have we discovered upon doing this survey?  We know that office providers are excellent at running, managing and looking after their clients, but office broker companies seem to know exactly what the potential client using the web to search wants and needs.  A good combination we think.

In my opinion, some valid points made, but also some that seem well wide of the mark.

Brokers obviously have a valuable part to play in this industry and they do a good job putting us in contact with a large number of prospective clients and vice versa.

But it should not be forgotten that operators pay for these leads and occassionaly offer further incentives for placements, so the service isn’t completely out of good will.

A lot of operator websites have good amounts of relevant information on serviced offices but of course they only advertise their own offices - you wouldn’t go to Tesco.com and expect to be able to buy an Asda product.

Going directly also leaves you in complete control of who you want to speak to and when. Unfortunately it can sometimes be the case that those searching for offices can receive tens of calls within a few hours of conducting an on-line search, which can be frustrating for all parties.

    Good points, Paul.

However, I would argue about the data on office provider sites. Other than a few exceptions, its not as good as it could be.

Also, regards them only offering their own products - i dont expect MWB to offer Regus offices of course :) but this is what we are saying, if the user has more choice, then this has got to be better for them dont you think?

I would say that in nearly every line of product or service, you get a better deal from brokerage. Car insurance, loans, mortgages..even office space surely it makes sense to compare the whole market?

Ok maybe there is some instances of back scratching, but in the main the broker will want to place you with the best suited provider. After all they need to build a reputation. Going direct to a provider you have nothing to compare what you have been offered.
