Edinburgh office space shortage

Edinburgh office space

A shortage of Edinburgh office space helped town house prices to increase by 15% in 2007.

The average house in Edinburgh increased by 9% but because many town houses - 3 and 4 storey buildings - are used as office space, because of the shortage of Regus-style business centres, this has helped this type of accommodation to increase significantly more in price.

Surveyors are quoting that 50% of offers on town houses in the city are made by businesses rather than affluent residential customers.A townhouse that catered for 3000 sq ft of office space in 2006 was just over £750k whereas now the same building would cost £870k.
