Plans for a £400m development next to Office space Reading serviced officesReading Station have been put on hold after been called in.
John Madejski’s, Sackville Properties has said that the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Hazel Blears will look at the plans.

The development, Station Hill, was given outline planning permission in March for 800,000 sq ft of office space, 100,000 sq ft of shops and around 650 flats. A redesign is being completed to include the Friars Walk shopping centre it bought in 2007.

Madejski says, the significance of the development of Station Hill has been reinforced by the Governments approval of a £650m investment for the modernisation of the railway station. The plans for Station Hill were simply designed to complement this. The ultimate goal is to help Reading as it looks to grow into a city. Sackville will work hard with all parties to have a development that Reading deserves.
